Hi friends!

Today I am sharing a little Tamara Menges Lifestyle on the blog with Kerrington Snow’s nursery! I designed it before we knew she was a girl (I was so sure she was a boy, but just in case I did it gender neutral!) and it’s mostly mama-made too! I adore how it turned out!

All these sweet images are from Alyse French Photography!

My design style is simplistic, clean, and colorful! Gracious am I glad it transitioned from the everything-beige-scared-of-color that it was for years!

Now, I love bright white walls with lots of color, and for Kerrington Snow’s nursery I also wanted a geometric vibe!

The crib sheet fabric was my starting point! When I found it on SpoonFlower, my heart jumped from my chest! I ordered enough to make the fitted sheet and used the left-over fabric for some window valances.

For the painting I picked out several craft paints, cut out one triangle as a template and went to town! To finish it off I outlined each triangle with a gold paint pen.

The crib skirt was actually my “practice” round. I got some inexpensive broadcloth from Hobby Lobby just to see if I could make the skirt, and I loved it so much I went ahead and kept it as the skirt! Clean and simple with a little detail.

The crib is a favorite. It’s a Jenny Lind, and the exact style I had been eying! What was so cool was when our friends Janaye and Michael moved into their new home they found this vintage keeper in their attic and graciously gave it to us! All it needed was a couple coats of a grey chalk paint!

Finally, the bows were a last detail that I thought would “girl it up” after we found out she was indeed a little girl! I definitely think it finished off the look!

MengesNewbornLifestyle03I made the mobile with wood carving blocks, tiny eyehooks, and fishing line! She loves staring at them move around! (Ya know the 2 times I’ve actually put her in her crib, ha! #reallife)

These were some fun watercolor prints I made that hang above her basket that holds dirty clothes and the diaper genie!

The diaper changing area is another favorite area! (can you tell I love the whole room!) I knew I wanted an actual dresser for the changing table because it can grow with her. I found this one at an estate sale, gave it some love with a bright coral paint, and sprayed the handles gold!

The gallery wall has so much love in it. The “baby makes 3” sign was how we announced our pregnancy in our Christmas cards (our friend Janaye, Chalk This Way, did so good!) Kerrington’s birth stats at the top right were a beautiful gift from our friend Kristin of Grace and Serendipity! I made the “He washed me white as Snow” (on the bottom) because Jesus’ blood is where we came up with Kerrington’s middle name. And the “pretty is as pretty does” print I also made because it was something my mom always said to me growing up. The other three prints I purchased off Etsy to complete the gallery!

Rounding out our mama-made nursery is that quilt draped over the rocking chair! It was my very first quilt to make, super simple, but I’m really proud of it!

Here’s one more pull back shot I took on my iphone, the picture below is not from Alyse French, but I wanted to show how the room is laid out, this is looking into her nursery from the door leading into it! The door you see is her bathroom!

Hope you enjoyed the tour of Kerrington Snow’s nursery! It’s my favorite interior project to date!
