Hi again!

Today I am sharing #thebestdayever when we were able to “bust Snow out of the NICU” as my hubby says!

On Sunday May 24, we were at our last wedding before I was supposed to start maternity leave, and we got a call from the NICU. We were already in Houston and we were planning to go visit Kerrington during the wedding after we set up until we had to go back and clean up.

The NICU told us we needed to bring in a car seat for a baby under 5lbs so she could do a car seat test. I immediately burst into tears because we had already been told that when the doctor ordered a car seat test it meant she would be discharged in the next couple days!! It was the best phone call ever!

(The car seat test entailed her sitting in the car seat hooked up to all the monitors for 90 minutes to make sure she didn’t stop breathing, etc while in the seat)

As soon as we finished setting up, we rushed to Wal-Mart and then a Target looking for a Graco car seat, because our car seat we registered for started at 5lbs and it was back at home in my car.

We finally found one and got to the hospital to also find her in an open crib! Another milestone for her to come home soon!

On Tuesday May 26th, over 3 weeks earlier than my due date which was when they said she would be able to go home, the doctor ordered her to be discharged!

Our friend Alicia Pyne was there to capture those moments we will never forget! Her twin babies were actually in the same NICU a few years ago when she delivered early at Clear Lake Regional!

We are so grateful to Clear Lake Regional NICU for taking such good care of our sweet girl, but we were so glad her journey in the NICU was over! Thank you Alicia for capturing this special time for us!
