Hi friends!

Organic makeup. Sounds like an oxy-moron to me honestly. I thought surely it could only mean mineral based powder with little to no coverage, but I learned the options go quite further.

A girl can have organic makeup and full coverage in the same product, yes please.

I have been on a quest for finding better quality make-up as I have learned that some not-so-great additives are used in various products that we then put onto our skin, which by the way is our largest organ. So it is just as important what we put on our bodies as far as beauty products as what we put in our bodies like foods and drinks.

Everything we put on our skin gets absorbed, yikes. Especially when you take the time to research said ingredients. I came across the website The Good Trade while looking for ethical clothing and noticed a post dedicated to organic makeup lines.

I began looking through each of the companies that were highlighted, and decided Au Naturale Cosmetics would be my first line to try of organic makeup, and I am so glad it was!

I primarily chose them because they offer samples at only $5.50 for each of their foundation colors. Since I was ordering offline, I didn’t want to potentially pay full price for the wrong color, and then have a an entire bottle or stick of foundation that would go to waste. I was able to order a few colors to try out and match my skin tone.

After receiving my samples (that also included a hand-written note and a free lipstick sample #score!) I was able to quickly tell which color was the right fit for my skin. The samples also have enough to use for several days.  Which by the way, is plenty of time to get in your full-sized container in because shipping is so fast!

They also carry eye shadows, blushes, concealers, powders, finishing powders, and bronzers.

Another pleasant surprise that I wasn’t expecting, but makes sense, is my skin is looking remarkably better and evened out sans make-up. I’ve always had a splotchy factor to my skin so I typically will atleast put foundation on just to even my skin out, but I’m noticing a dramatic difference in the appearance of my skin after I take my makeup off. Hallelujah! (now if I could just get rid of the “young mama” dark circles, ask me about my turmeric and yogurt mask fail!)
