Happy Sunday once again!

While I’ve got a breakfast casserole in the oven for my Sunday School class, I wanted to get another blog post done for y’all!

Several months back Sarah and I were approached to do an editorial shoot for VIP Magazine’s January wedding issue!

We were so exited, but it took me a few days to come up with a “concept” to both capture the readers of VIP Magazine and still be true to my design aesthetic.

When we finally came up with “Rustic Elegance” Sarah and I both knew it would be a hit!

The Bauer Ranch in Winnie, Texas created the absolute perfect backdrop for both our ceremony and reception rustic story.

The white gown is provided by David’s Bridal and it is a brand new dress from their 2012 line, that they shipped us from New York because they were not even in stores yet! (we shot this back in November!)

Also, how fabulous is the groom in that Calvin Klein grey suit from Men’s Wearhouse!

I kept the floral very simple with curly willow balls, and two “alter” arrangements on top of two reclaimed fence post columns that my husband made for the shoot, as well as simple pew markers and a muted in tone bridal bouquet.

I absolutely LOVE how Sarah took the shirt off her back (dont worry she was “layered” and had our bride wear for a few fun shots!) The contrast with the flannel and all those ruffles! Hello? To die for right?!

Next was our “reception” look, stationary was provided by Leigh Makes Designs and the food provided by Beaumont Catering Company.

I wanted a different approach with the floral for the table centerpiece. I took tree logs and stood them up-right then cascaded the same muted-toned floral around them. I accented with deer antlers and a beautiful oversized-runner that draped on to {the barn floor}.

We changed our bride into more of a “party” dress, although it is very much a wedding gown from the fabulous Brickhouse Bridal Salon in Houston. Its a fantastic “dusty pink” dress full of texture.

Hair for both of our looks for the bride was done by the hands of Ashly Black owner of Something Beautiful Hair and Make-up.

Make-up was done by Meagan Phillips owner of Viva Bella Make-up Artistry!

Here are some more details of our “reception”

How about our fabulous cake?! T Cakes Creations provided the most perfect cake to go along with our Rustic Elegance.

For an extra treat, I had my camera videoing some of the “craziness” that is our shoot, so that YOU can see exactly how these fantastic images came together here!

Hope y’all enjoy The Superbowl tonight, (atleast the commercials!)

xoxo, Tamara
