As you can tell by now, I absolutely love styling shoots, from shopping in antique stores for props, to playing with ideas of how to create new floral arrangements to the actual set-up and witnessing whats been in my head come to life and bringing new ideas to those (YOU!) that may take a gander at my blog or facebook page.

This was the second of  the four shoots in our “Southern” collection, it was also our first to be submitted to a National blog and we got a YES very quickly after Sarah sent it in!

We were featured on the amazing and nationally recognized wedding blog www.weddingchicks.com! We were so thrilled when they feature was finally live I didn’t what to do! Cry, scream, jump up and down! Pretty sure I did all of the above within 30 seconds of seeing it online!

So just in case you missed when it was featured here ya go, enjoy! and leave us some love and let us know if you love them as much as we do!

The true inspiration was a chair that I remembered from my childhood, an upholstered wing back chair in peach. My mom happened to still have it, and drove it four hours for me to use! From the single chair, I began to consider different items I wanted to incorporate into the “look” I desired to accomplish. I also picked out the perfect flowers to subtly pick up the color.

Peach, I think is a true southern color, especially when paired with beautiful milk glass, and textural floral and greenery. I reupholstered some chairs in complimentary fabrics; white washed the table, and bought a beautiful piece of peach silk dupioni to run down the table for a little punch of color. I love how using different types of chairs gives a little of the unexpected.

The cake, designed by This Cakes For You, was exactly what I was hoping for “simple,” Dena took her inspiration from the milk glass, and it turned out beautifully!
